2006: Operation Cock Block
Show Notes
A group of women, all with eerily similar stories, say they were deceived—emotionally and financially—by the same man: William Sullivan. But instead of staying silent, they took matters into their own hands. They formed Operation Cock Block, a coordinated effort to expose what they claim were Sullivan’s deceptive tactics and warn others before they fell victim.

Speaker: So when was the first time that you realized that maybe he was being unfaithful?
Dana Miller: there was this high end furniture store that, um, he was purchasing, um, furniture from. And, I started suspecting that he was, um, cheating on me with one of the, uh, people that work there. Um, she's also a part of the article.
Speaker: This is Dana. Dana is talking about her failed relationship with Bill Sullivan, a colorado business man. party at her house
Dana Miller: Um, and, of course, you know, well, I take that back. There was another girl.
Speaker: I was worried about her and he told me that, that he, they were just friends, um, but he, he could never be with her because she had herpes. Bill Sullivan assured Dana that this other girl was simply just a friend. So she took him at his word . But Dana tells me that was just one of the first of many affairs. One day, she called the woman I called Susie and found out for sure he was sleeping with her.
Dana Miller: I knew that he was sleeping with Liz.
Speaker: So that, I that was really the first one. Um, but Stephanie was the, the one that, um, More long term that was an issue, um, with me and again, but he, he would deny and deny and deny, It turns out there are dozens , maybe even as many as hundreds of women, who say Bill Sullivan is con man preying on women for their money. In fact, these women have banned together to form what is now known as Operation Cock Block. Operation Cock Block is a self-organized militia of scorned women who claim they have been emotionally and financially devastated by Bill Sullivan. Determined to protect others, they joined forces to expose his lies and manipulative tactics. They warn new targets, share evidence of his criminal past, and highlight his ongoing pattern of deception. One woman acted as an inside informant ("the mole"), providing updates on his whereabouts and romantic pursuits. Other women monitored social media sites trying to catch Bill Sullivan in the act. But some worked behind the battlelines... like this woman named Jen. //JENNIFER///
Javier: So we're going to freestyle this one a little bit. But yeah, I mean, just, let's just start organically, kind of like what we did with Dana. Tell me how you first met Bill, and how did that start?
Jennifer Regnier: so I, I've never physically met him or seen him in person, nothing, um, but he knows of me.
Javier: Wait, you've never
Jennifer Regnier: knows me as Sar,
Dana Miller: you never.
Jennifer Regnier: me as Sergeant Blocker.
Dana Miller: Yeah. Jen never dated him. That's
Speaker: the beauty of all of this. Yeah.
Javier: you're Sergeant Blocker?
Jennifer Regnier: yeah, and he tried to get, he went to the police and tried to get me arrested for impersonating an officer And they said, no, anybody can use the title sergeant.
Dana Miller: Every militia needs a frontline coordinator... Someone who can communicate directly with victims or new targets to warn and educate them. That basically Jen's role.
Speaker: DANA and Jennifer team up for operation cock block
Jennifer Regnier: I'm like, I mean, we have talked about this case for so many years, and whenever we get together, we're like, we need a wall of whiteboard to do all, connect all,
Speaker: the dots, and who,
Javier: Mm hmm.
Jennifer Regnier: who knew who, and all that, because I mean, literally, Dana and I've been doing this so long that But during that Operation Cockblock, in a month and a half, it was 20 to 25 women that he was working at one time. And had several, you know, I mean, it was just every day we were getting another ping from somebody else, you know. Because through the article, I mean, this is, you know, right when You know, I, I, I don't know.
Speaker: it's over a hundred women by now. It was like at the front end of websites and stuff. And so people, if you go into the comment section, if it's still there, I mean, people would find Dana's name or my name in the, in the article and then reach out to her. And then it just kept snowballing and snowballing and snowballing and it's just, has never stopped. ///INTRO///
Jennifer Regnier: Today, we're going unseal the details of Operation Cock Block... and I'm going to attempt to reach out to Bill Sullivan to see what he thinks of his vengful lovers. I'm Javier Leiva and this is PRETEND. Stories about real people pretending to be someone else.
Javier: Does he go by Bill?
Dana Miller: He did go by Bill. He now goes by William. I think he started doing that. I'm going to guess around 2017 or so. Um, but yeah, he went, he initially went by Bill for his entire life. As far as I know. Um, Um, it was very random how we met. Um, I was coming out of, um, um,
Speaker: This is Dana again. I'd been married twice and my second marriage was. It's pretty awful and abusive and, um, I, uh, my hairdresser, who I was good friends with, um, Bill had just randomly walked into her salon to get a haircut and didn't know anything about his history or anything like that. And to be perfectly honest with you, she was like, I just wanted you to get laid. I mean, she just, cause I was not in a very good place with the divorce I was going through and. Um,
Javier: just need a rebound,
Dana Miller: yeah, um, that's not really my style, unfortunately, and he, you know, just like any good, um, any good con artist, you know, sociopath, he, he was charming and attentive, attentive, and, you know, was very interested in my life, what my interests were, uh, things like that. Um, we had our first date, and. He, God, here we go.
Speaker: he didn't tell me that he had, uh, been in prison when I, on that first date. LUMIVISION
Dana Miller: I'm mean, how do you bring that up? Telling someone you were found guilty of embezzling $1 million dollars form a his former employer doesn't usually go over every well.
Speaker: In 1998, Bill Sullivan was working as the chief financial officer at a Denver DVD and laser disc distribution company. Little did the company know, that Bill was bleeding their account dry, to the point that the company had no choice to shut down. Bill pleaded guilty and was sentenced to ten years in prison... but only ended up serving 8 years. But let's get back to Dana and Bill's first date. Things were looking promising. We happened to go to the same church at the time. That was kind of a big deal. They had a lot in common. They were both single parents. he told me that he was going through a divorce Dana had a seven year old son. and Bill was the father of twin boys. But right away, there were some red flags she missed. Like the way he spoke about his soon-to-be ex-wife. and he called her a gold digging bitch right out of the gate, you know, and made her into a villain. Uh, she supposedly was a stripper, um, just was with him for his money, and she took it all, and took his kids So, you know, immediately, I, you know, I don't like this woman, whoever she is. But eventually, the truth about Bill's criminal history was bound to come up. so that first date, you know, I guess was a, a good first date. Um, he, he had to, uh, divulge that he had been in prison because when I did meet him, he was living in a halfway house. Um, so it's not like, I mean, he couldn't drive. Um, he wasn't allowed to drive, things like
Javier: Did he have an ankle monitor?
Dana Miller: did, when he got out of the halfway house, he had an ankle monitor for about a year.
Speaker: So he did tell me that he had been in prison for embezzlement. Um, but he said that he had invested this money, this million dollars that he had taken from the company. And, um, had basically just, quote, paid himself back The company, called Lumivision Corporation, distributed laser discs, remember those? This was 1994, guys. Before blueray discs, and after VHS tapes, movies came in a giant pizza-size discs. Lumivision, the company Bill worked for, would buy rights to films, then distribute those films to music and video shops like tower records. Bill, who claimed to have a degree in accounting, joined the company as a bookkeeper and eventually made his way to comptroller. It was his job to track every dollar coming in and out of the company. But did Bill Sullivan even have a degree in accounting? according to an article written by Westword magazine, The University of Denver, where Bill says he earned his bachelor's degree, says it has no record of William P. Sullivan. ever attending there. Mabe if Bill had attended college, he would have learned all about embezzlement in his auditing courses and that stealing money from the company you work for is not a good idea. But that didn't stop him. While working at lumivision, Bill wrote checks to himself. $2000 here, $2000 there. It started off slow but eventually Bill cashed up to two checks a day. He was also accused of abusing the compnay credit card, treating himself to vacations, plane tickets, hotels, rental cars and jewlery. 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: So what I, you know, what any of us ever saw was what he sort of wanted us to see. And we of This is Jamie White, the former CEO of Lumivision course were assuming it was what was being printed out by the, the software. Um, that we had to keep track of all our accounting and near the end, you know, when I thought he was paying bills to our creditors that we only had, or we owed money to because of bill, he was actually writing many them to himself. So he was able to over about a four year period, slowly but surely, and I gather like many They start slow and they ramp it up. Um, and he was able to get. Um, 900 close to a million dollars in over the four years
Dana Miller: the company CEO, Jamie White knew the company was struggling but he figured it was the lack of adoption in the laserdisc market. He had no clue that his wealthy, well-dressed financial comptroller was bleeding the company dry. In 1998 Jamie White, the CEO, saw the writing on the wall and phased down his operation.
Speaker: Bill must have thought he got away it, until he was arrested and charged with five counts of theft. He told investigators that he didn't steal the money. He had just given himself a raise. So he admitted that, you know, how he took the money back was wrong and obviously went to jail for it. But, um, uh, you know, he was, he did it because it was. He was just taking his own money back. because he had invested a lot of his money to keep the company afloat, and of course it wasn't his fault, it was his Partner, he, you know, he was supposedly a partner in this company and that Jamie, was just, hammering it into the ground in, and so he was like the white knight. So The money he was putting back into the company was the money that he was embezzling. So it was never his money that he, you know, he, he would ride in on his, you know, white horse and say, okay, I'll save. Cause Jamie could never figure out what was going on. And so, everybody looked to, to Bill as like the savior that was saving the company. Um, but all he was doing was putting some of that money that he was stealing and embezzling, um, and just putting it right back into the company. So, it seemed like he was doing a good thing, but he was stealing the company blind But Jamie White, the CEO of Lumivision doesn't remember it that way. 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: Whatever amount of money in it. I don't remember him doing that. Um, but he certainly never became an owner in LumaVision. you know, he never was part owner at all.
Dana Miller: But back then, when they first started dating, Dana didn't have the full story. Bill told Dana not to worry that he had plans to repay the company for the money he embezzled and that he was ready to put all of this behind him.
Speaker: In 1999, Bill Sullivan struck a deal with proecutors and pled guilty to one out of the five counts. (insert Jamie White's interview)
Dana Miller: He had planned on paying Jamie back every dime.
Speaker: THE LAST CHECK HE GOT 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: And he's, you know, you know, the last check I believe I got from him, it goes to the court, you know, they, he has to send it into them. But the last check I got was for about 750 I think it was last year. And then, uh, a number of years before that, check for 500. And I can't even tell you how much he's paid back over the years. It's, it's in the few thousands of dollars. But with interest, you know, he owes many, he owes many millions So it turns out Bill Sullivan wasn't being so truthful with Dana. TO her, he seemed like a remorseful, changed man. She didn't have a reason not to trust him.
Dana Miller: I was the best thing that he had ever, that had ever come into his life. He just wanted to make things right so we could have a normal life together.
Speaker: And those are the words I wanted to hear. I mean, at the time. my Christian faith was important to me. I believe that people deserve second chances he made it sound like he was going to make it right. but he had to get through his, you know, probation and all that kind of stuff. There's always something that, you know, he had to get through before he could actually do what was right. And, um, and that just kind of kept me on the hook. But knowing what she knows now, she realized she was in a very precarious situation. You do try to figure out why in the hell did I fall for, you know, somebody like this and gets, you know, so hooked I was naive, um, but again, you know, when you, I don't know, it, it's part of, it's my upbringing. Um, Kind of growing up in a sheltered, you know, home, um, and didn't realize, of course, I knew people lied, but I never realized in my entire lifetime, even though I had already gone through a terrible second divorce, but he was just above and beyond what I would, I had ever, you know, even seen anything on TV. Like you think of a psychopath, you think of somebody, a murderer, you know, you don't think of somebody that is. You know, conning you out of your, you know, of your entire life, good times
Javier: and it wasn't and it wasn't like that all the time, right? Like that, his past crimes did not define your relationship, I would imagine. I'm sure you guys had good times
Dana Miller: Oh, he was great. Like he was super
Javier: talked about other things,
Dana Miller: while he was really attentive. He, um, in that first year anyway, he was really interested in, in getting to know my son. Um, you know, um, uh, what really, you know, when I look back at it and what was the hook, so to speak, um,
Speaker: paternitiy test
Dana Miller: It was about maybe a month or so into our relationship.
Speaker: He had called me, um, literally on Father's Day and, um, was crying. And so he's in the middle of this terrible divorce, so I already know he's been to prison. Um, his soon to be ex wife had, um, up and moved, like, took everything from their, they had this beautiful home in, uh, Highlands Ranch. Um, she up and left him, took his kids, all that kind of stuff, and he calls me on, um, on Father's Day, and they had done a paternity test, and he had found out that those kids were not his. And I was so crushed for him, like, I was crying on the phone with him. I mean, I just couldn't even imagine that this evil woman, you know, would do, he'd already painted a terrible picture of her and now this happens. And that was my, that pulled on my heartstrings and that's when I was, I was in, I was in. In for it because you know if you've got
Javier: Was he pretty emotional, too?
Dana Miller: Oh, he was crying Yeah, it was all a lie. The kids were never his but I didn't find that out until I talked to Jennifer After we broke up, his, his, so Jen, we'll call Jen here, that's what she really goes by, and Jennifer is, is the second ex wife, so, um, I talked to her after, you know, after we had broken up, and, and she gave me the full story on a whole lot of things, but yeah, those kids went never his, so he was lying about that, and he knew that would happen.
Speaker: That would really get to me that, um, that, you know, that he found out that, that, that those kids weren't his and how awful that is
Javier: he's got you with this paternity story. He's devastated he's almost like this wounded bird, you know that
Dana Miller: He had a bad childhood. He was abused. His parents, you know, his mom supposedly died when he was five. He, there's a chance that he was maybe, um, adopted. He showed me paperwork, but it looked like, I mean, there was literally whiteout on it. I mean, there was, there's, there was a sob story for everything.
Speaker: After Bill Sullivan was released from the halfway house, Dana says he wanted to move in together. But she pumped the breaks on that idea. I felt like he needed to, you know, get back on his feet and do his thing and, and kind of figure out some things. And so for that first year, you know, we dated, but weren't living together and he was cheating on me the entire time I found out. you know, he had no credit. He really had no money. He was working for a, a company that, , knew about his, , criminal past. and I wasn't making a ton of money, but I had, I did have good credit, and that's what he took full advantage of, was, was my good credit. So that, in that first year. I had put my name on a, a used vehicle, um, for him and, and that's when the whole financial thing started really with him. You see, Bill didn't have a car and his credit was destroyed. So he asked Dana if she could finance a new Range Ranger and he promised he would make the payments. So she agreed and added the car to her name. It wasn't just the car. Eventially, Bill will somehow manage to convince Dana to also buy a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle in her name. Then a mercedez. She thought, as long as he makes the payments, what's the bid deal? He also kept pushing and pushing Dana to move in with her. After we moved in together, um, we were renting a house That's when the red flags started popping up. this particular night he was going to go out with his guy friends whoever they were and go play poker, which he never did And I was, and I called BS on it, but he went anyway. Dana knew Bill had a lot of female friends. But it wasn't until lived together that she realized the extent. After his going to play quote poker with his buddies. He brough a bunch of people home with him, including a woman who we're calling Lisa . Dana already suspected that Bill and Lisa were having an affair. so he had a party like he this he didn't have really guy friends And he told me and I again I was already very suspicious of Stephanie and he told me That they came home and I was upstairs in our room, uh, trying to go to sleep. And they went,
Javier: That's the part I don't understand. That, so he, he knows you're home and he's inviting all these people over?
Dana Miller: And they were all really, really drunk, like really drunk.
Javier: so you're upstairs, he knows that you're upstairs, he's having a party down in this basement with this Stephanie girl that, um, you already are suspicious of, like, is he that blatant about
Speaker: this, or what did he, what, One of the women from the party in the basement, walks upstairs.
Dana Miller: She knocks on my, I hear this knock on the bedroom door and, I sit up in bed and, and she was, you know, she said, hi.
Speaker: And I'm like, hi. I already knew who she was. And she goes, you know, Dana, we're all coupled up , downstairs Coupled up? What the heck does that mean? The woman tried to convince Dana to come downstairs for a drink. Dana asks her, "is bill downstairs with Lisa?" Lisa, the same woman Dana suspected was sleeping with Bill. And she goes, yeah, she's been with him for, I don't know, for a long time. I don't remember exactly the word. So that was my confirmation, at least in that moment, that my suspicions were correct. so I went down there and I told everybody to get the fuck out of, you know, my house. I was pretty upset.
Javier: But who did she think she was talking to? Did she not know that you were in a relationship with, with
Dana Miller: no, they thought I was broken up with Bill, and like I was sponging off of him
Speaker: Bill was completely hammered. So, there was really no, um, talking anything through that night. Like, I even left and was going down, or going to a friend's place Yeah, she took him back
Javier: that was it? The relationship was over at that point?
Dana Miller: no, I believed him. I believe that April, because I never liked April. Um, and so I believed what he said. And of course he was going to do better. Um, I felt like I was in, it. That's, that was part of my problem. I really felt like I, um, I had no idea. I mean, I, my, my name was on the car, you know, we, we didn't own this house.
Speaker: We rented it, but, um, you're already in really deep at this point, or at least I felt like I was, and I was in love with them, I wanted to believe him. And, you know, every time he would screw up, um, it's, um. You know, he would find a way back in, I know... what was she thinking? But you weren't in her shoes. Eventually time passed and Bill convinced Dana to buy a house under her name because you know his credit still was completely shot, so it, it had to be me. Soon after, she confirmed that Bill was continuing to cheat on her with Lisa. And I broke up with him, like, and I went out with my friends and, I was just going about my business. And he was showing up at every place that we would go to, like he was just, he was following me around. It was really late at night. It was like one o'clock in the morning and we were headed to a restaurant. One of my girlfriend's boyfriend's family owned a restaurant. We were just going to go hang out there and I get these series of texts like. I'm just saying goodbye, I'm sorry I ruined your life, blah, blah, blah. And so I whipped a Yui and I went, I went home and the garage door wouldn't open up. And so I went through the front door and again, my son is not there. Thank goodness he was with his dad. Um, but, uh, he had locked the garage door so I couldn't, you know, open it that way. And when I walked into the house, I mean, it was just filled with. Exhaust jams. And so I went out there and he's like passed out and I'm trying to wake him up. He wouldn't wake up. No, he didn't do it right. By the way. He just turned on the car. There was no,
Javier: It didn't go into the car. Yeah.
Dana Miller: um, he pretended and I, this was, it was completely fake, but I ran inside, I got the phone, uh, I called nine one one and.
Speaker: well, and I, before I called 9 1 1, I was like, I am calling 9 1 1. You need to wake up, you know, and, cause I, you know, with his past and everything that, you know, the cops showing up probably wouldn't be a great thing, but he wouldn't wake up. So I called 9 1 1 and all they could hear was me saying, get out, get out. Cause I was trying to get him to wake up and get out of the car. And then all of a sudden he pops up, he opens the garage door, and he puts it in reverse. And then he kind of slowly backs out and then kind of slowly goes into the, in the lawn and then stops and then he passes out again. And he had this, he had this spit like running down his chin. And by that time the 911 operator had called, you know, we've got the police, we've got paramedics and we have, um, the fire trucks because I never really even said anything to her. All she could hear me say was. Get out, get out, get out. So in this little sleepy cul de sac neighborhood, I mean, it was just lit up like Christmas. And then he pops up again and goes inside and he goes up to our bedroom upstairs. And I am just, I mean, I am just literally looking at them and, you know, and so they, they went up there and , and they took him to the hospital and they, um, he was put on a 72 hour hold. The counselor there, um, she flat out told me that she thought he was faking it and I, I thought she was a monster because who fakes something like this? I believed him, yeah, and he, he was on that 72 year old, uh, he got flowers from one of, one of his other women that he was sleeping with while he was there. I saw her, um, but of course he wasn't sleeping with her either, you know, she's just a friend and, um, and it worked because I went back to him.
Javier: So that was just a big ploy just to get you back?
Dana Miller: Yeah,
Javier: so he has a suicide attempt, he wins you back. What happens and how are we getting closer to the end of the
Dana Miller: yeah, so we probably, yeah, we probably lasted about six or seven months. Um, beyond that, it was that summer that we finally broke up. Yeah, there was another time that, um, I mean, I was done, really done and he was not leaving
Speaker: More on that, after the break. he, he moved out. Um, I tried to hold onto the house. Um, but it, I was in deep debt with a lot of things at this point. And, uh,
Javier: list them off. Like, you had the, the house. What
Dana Miller: house, um, there, I had put my name on a Mercedes, um, for him. I had paid out, I don't even know, I mean, that's what's so, it's not like he went into my account and took out 80, 000, like everything, and I think that's probably about what it was with all the interest on, you know, with the credit, like I had a credit card that was all.
Speaker: From our relationship that was, um, I was like 23, 000 on it at 21 percent interest. Um, I was 25, 000 upside down on that Mercedes. Uh, I was able to do a short sale on the house, um, by the, you know, I was upside down about 30, 000 on that. Um, And, you know, of course lost all the money that I had put into the house. HE WAS BROKE
Dana Miller: Um, you know, it was a constant thing where he, with the 5, 000 he was supposedly paying Jennifer which he wasn't, that was another lie, but he would constantly use that excuse that he didn't have money for groceries, he didn't have money to go out to dinner. You know, all that kind of stuff. Um, so I was paying a lot of the expenses and everything too.
Javier: How did he have money for a Mercedes if he didn't have money for any of those
Dana Miller: well he could figure out a way to pay for that. But when he, he ended up dumping that Mercedes on my, uh, driveway. And it was like a 900 a month payment. And I paid on that Mercedes for about 9 or 10 months.
Javier: Yeah, but he dropped it off on your driveway because you threatened him, right?
Dana Miller: well I told him that I was going to call the police.
Speaker: MATCH.COM
Dana Miller: Dana had enough of Bill Sullivan.
Speaker: I called Susie and found out for sure he was sleeping with her. broke his foot
Dana Miller: I knew that he was sleeping with Liz.
Speaker: Dana then started digging through public records. I found a letter, or what was it? He was disputing a charge on his credit card, to a, an escort service And Remember Lisa, the woman Bill was seeing the whole time he was with Dana? The same woman bill was coupled up with in Dana's basement? Well, she was originally smittend by him. They dated for 8 months before she learned the truth. And that Dana was right about him. Emily aka shana Dana was determined to find out who else he was potentially seeing. She then scoured the dating sites and immediately found his profile. It turns out Bill was seeing a woman we're calling Emily, again, not her real name. Emily met Bill on Match.com. She was thin, blond and looked a whole lot like his ex-girlfriend Dana. Here's Jen who you heard from earlier in the episode, AKA Sgt. Blocker. Jen was friend's with Emily.
Jennifer Regnier: when she first started telling me that she was dating this guy,
Speaker: Bill, and she was super excited about him and You know, as time went on, like a month or so, I would be like, Oh, when do we get to meet your new boyfriend? And she's like, Oh, well, you know, we're just kind of laying low. He doesn't really have a whole lot of money. So we just. Order Chinese food in and stay at home and watch movies and yada, yada. And then a little more time would go by and then she would be like, well, you know, he, I think we were out one night and we were out one night and she told, told us girls that he wears, has an ankle monitor. And I was like, an ankle monitor. I'm like, who is this joker? And she's like. Well, and then that's when she kind of told the story she started telling me that his ex girlfriend, Dana, was harassing them and calling and asking, you know, harassing Bill for money and she's crazy and All this stuff. And I'm like, maybe you should reach out to her and get, find out what's going on with this guy. Here's Dana again.
Dana Miller: Yeah, he brought her to the, he, he brought her to, to the Christmas party. I were, I, I was a front end manager at this place and I was bartending and, um, she walked in and we really could be sisters. I mean, it, it was bizarre, um.
Jennifer Regnier: They look alike, sound alike. Yeah.
Speaker: And so I guess one night her and Bill. We're in the car driving somewhere and Dana called and he had her on speakerphone Emily told Dana to leave Bill alone.
Dana Miller: when that call happened, I said, basically, keep an eye out for the red flags because, you know, whatever I said, and that was, that was her first indication that maybe I wasn't this crazy ex that I was trying to warn her
Speaker: At first Emily dismissed Dana's warning but...
Jennifer Regnier: Some things are not adding up. And she's like, yeah, I'm kind of feeling the same way. You know, I've, you know, I've been questioning some stuff.
Speaker: Emily started doing her own research and also found Bill's match.com profile. He listed himself as single. Not long after that... Emily returned to Dana's workplace at the golf course.
Dana Miller: And she came in and I just looked at, you know, and nobody was really in the bar area and she sat down and I said, I don't know what you're doing here, but I don't want any trouble from you. All I'm doing is trying to do my job. She's like, no, no, no, I'm not. And I think by that time she had broken up with him.
Jennifer Regnier: cause she had loaned him money.
Dana Miller: Five grand.
Jennifer Regnier: he kept asking for money, like, Oh, I need a thousand dollars for this or whatever.
Dana Miller: She wanted to leave Bill but not without getting the 5,000 dollars she loaned him.
Jennifer Regnier: And so she took the bike
Speaker: the kawasaki ninja motorcycle his ex-girlfriend Dana bought him and threw it into the, her car and held that for collateral. Emily, determined to warn others just as Dana had warned her, reached out to Allison—one of the women she suspected Bill was cheating with. Emily met Bill on match.com. Just like the others, she was impressed with his charm and appearance of wealth. The relationship lasted almost eight months. During that time, Bill convinced Allison to pay off the remaining debt on the motorcycle Dana bought him. Allsion even paid for a trip to Hawaii for Bill's 40th birthday. Eventually Allison got a call from Emily, the woman claiming to be Bill's girlfriend. That wasn't enough to spook her. Allison decided to stay with Bill. In fact, he even proposed to her with a $10 thousand dollar diamond ring... a ring Allison paid for herself. Luckily, Allison broke off the wedding plans. And $50 thousdand dollars in debt later, Bill left Allison literally bankcrupted. I know i'm throwing around of random females names at you. But you need to understand the scale of this story. This next lady, who we're calling Michelle says she was also duped by Bill. But she quickly took matters into her own hands. After of months of suspecting infidelity, she posted Bill's picture on Facebook group to see if anyone recognize him. Pretty soon, she got a bite. The woman said that was her boyfriend and she had been dating him for more than a year. Then more women came forward. The women decided that they should do something about this. Bill Sullivan needs to be stopped. So they reached out to Dana. And the rest is history. who coined the term operation cock block
Javier: okay. So who coined the term Operation Cockblock?
Jennifer Regnier: me.
Speaker: That's Jen. Yeah, because we had, we had five or six women. That were, well, yeah. So Christine was feeding us all the information. She was pivotal in Operation
Dana Miller: Yeah, they would find the women and Jen would put them in contact with me and I would talk to them. That's pretty much how it went. And Bill, I mean, he really, I don't think he knew, he was not onto Christine whatsoever. Until that article came out, like he really had
Jennifer Regnier: had no idea it was her. Yeah. So I think one day we were all on the phone and I'm like, yes, Operation Cockblock has commenced and we all just started laughing.
Speaker: DELETES FB ACCOUNT / ARE WE DATING THE SAME GUY?
Jennifer Regnier: Um, I don't know. I mean, she seems like he's trying, so he deleted his Facebook account. Within the last couple of weeks and created a new Facebook account because so many people what he does is he friends all these women and And everybody starts talking on this, you know, are we dating the same guy website?
Speaker: I mean we have copies of all this, you know, the different strings and stuff that he
Javier: Is it like a Facebook group or
Jennifer Regnier: Yeah, yeah,
Dana Miller: it's a private group of women
Speaker: where, you know, they've met somebody online, and they may not know this guy, and they just throw their picture out there, and they say, Is there any T or red flags on this guy? Um, And if there's something to say, people will say it. And he's been posted, I posted one time, um, a little while back, but he's been on there, I don't know, a handful of times where women have met him and, and want to know if there's any dirt on him. So it's kind of a helpful site for, for women to help each other out.
Javier: you're, so if you're a woman and you just meet somebody and you're like, Hey, I'm just going to throw this guy's picture up there just in case. It's like that kind of deal. Like I see some red flags. Wow. That's awesome
Speaker: One of the women described it as a "shock and awe" campagin. They were hitting him from every direction. There was even a classified ad on the Denver's craiglist with Bill Sullivan's picture. it read: Hi, I just wanted to warn all the women out there that I am a first rate con-artist, scammer, lier, cheater, and I'm bad in bed. Stay away from me, I will only take your money!!! WESTWARD ARTICLE
Javier: Eventually, Westword magazine in Denver got word of Bill and Operation Cock Block.
Speaker: Article cover
Jennifer Regnier: so I was in San Francisco on, uh, in a, for work, and the net, the vet that morning, Dana's text me, she's like, Oh my God, article ran, article ran, and then she sent me a picture of Of what it was, and it was that doll, that Ken doll, naked Ken doll, and I just died.
Speaker: I was like,
Dana Miller: Well, and you have to imagine Westward in print is like an oversized magazine. So it's like 12 by 18 maybe. And, and
Jennifer Regnier: in all the restaurants, all, like when you walk into a restaurant, you see Westward Rack right there, so it had this
Speaker: big
Javier: Yeah.
Dana Miller: and, and
Javier: And was
Speaker: it on the front
Dana Miller: uh
Jennifer Regnier: Yeah.
Javier: Oh my gosh, that's hysterical. So it's a Ken doll with the words Operation Cockblock with the private parts on, over the private parts
Speaker: BTW, huge shout out to Melanie Asmar, who wrote this article for Westword. Excellent piece on operation cock block, I'll make sure to link to the article in the show notes.
Dana Miller: It's, I mean, even talking to this, um, this most recent girl on Facebook that she only went out with him a handful of times, and then, and then she Googled him and found the article and, and, um, called it off, but it sounds like she was, you know, that's going down that same road of getting, you know, seriously involved with him and everything.
Speaker: And I just started, you know, not even giving her a quarter of the story and she just, it's so hard for people to comprehend. That somebody can, that they can be like this and that, you know, all of this can be true and, you know, it's sorted out in my head because I lived it, but when you're, when you're trying, you know, us explaining this to you today, there's just still so much more to the story because it's, it's really complicated and that's how, you know, that's part of the, the con is to keep it complicated. Keep it all, you know, upside down and inside out. So you don't know which way is up. And
Javier: You have to be smothered in it in order to understand how you could fall for
Dana Miller: yeah, so
Javier: Yeah. Wow.
Speaker: PET NAMES
Dana Miller: Yeah. Uh, so yeah, I mean, he's working people like multiple people all at once. And, um, He'll use the same pet names, you know, things like that, because I really feel like it's hard for him to keep everybody's names straight. And there, I don't know if this was in the article, but, like for instance, Hunage was one of my pet names, and he used that same pet name.
Speaker: Who calls anybody Hunage? And, He used that on multiple women, you know, it was a special because you know, you're gorgeous and honey and gorgeous like put together I don't know with some BS like that, HE'S WORKING MULTIPLE PEOPLE AT ONCE
Dana Miller: he's working multiple people all
Speaker: HIS TYPE
Dana Miller: at
Speaker: once.
Javier: All this got me wondering... does Bill Sullivan have a type? Is there a certain profile of women he targets?
Dana Miller: he is going to use anybody, it does not matter. It doesn't matter what you look like, like he doesn't have a type. Like people would say, you know, Shane and I looked exactly alike, so he has a type. Like, Liz, no offense to her, but she was much older than us, you know, not very attractive.
Speaker: I thought, there's no way that they're sleeping together, you know, he's, he's not her type. Sure enough, he, well, he got, he was getting something from her. It doesn't matter. Um, yeah, it doesn't matter. He was, he almost took out a life insurance policy at that job where Ke'an got him fired from. He was going to buy a plane with the. The doctor or the owner of this spinal, um, you know, institute, whatever it was, and, uh, ended up getting fired. But he was on the verge of, they were going to take out life insurance policies on each other. Well, we know how that's going to end. I mean, it's just crazy. Um, so yeah, he's going to use, it doesn't matter, it doesn't, it just doesn't matter who you are. ASIANS
Jennifer Regnier: Yeah, one period in the last 10 years, he was, he had a lot of Asian, Asian girlfriends. He was working his way through the Asian community.
Dana Miller: Well, and, and I
Jennifer Regnier: probably wised up to him as well.
Speaker: his type
Dana Miller: he's going to use, it doesn't matter, it doesn't, it just doesn't matter who you are.
Speaker: yeah, but I think, like, you know, I was bartending at the time, and it, you know, if you are kind of liquid, so to speak, if you got a lot of cash on hand, that's always good for him, so if they, Um, you know, whatever I, I don't mean to be stereotypical, but you know, if they've got a profession that they're, you know, just like I did as a bartender, you know, they're, you've got money to spend and he's going to hone in on that. Or like an esthetician types, one of them was an esthetician, um, things like that. So, um, it does not, he does not have a type. Um,
Jennifer Regnier: It goes after single, single moms a
Dana Miller: yeah, single moms. I don't know how well that works for him anymore, being in your almost 60 years old. But yeah, back during when we were together, um, and that's how it's hard.
Speaker: Like Heather, Heather, she was a single mom of a little girl. Um, there was one girl in, in Alabama that was getting ready to leave her husband. Private investigator contacted me, she, I don't know if it was the husband that hired the private investigator or what it was, but he contacted me and I gave him the source. She was leaving her husband and moving to Colorado with their daughter to live with him. Um, I mean, he just shows, there's just, there's no, there's no boundaries or, I mean, it just does not matter. He is going to take advantage of you. Yeah, exactly.
Javier: His type is green
Dana Miller: type is green. Yeah, if he's gonna get credit or money or, or something
Speaker: I reached out to Bill Sullivan but he has not returned my request for comments. However, he did go on the record with Westword magazine back in 2010. He told the magazine, "I think there's this little pack of two or three women who are out to ruin me," he says. Bill admits that he wasn't always the nicest boyfriend. "Have I cheated before in a relationship? Yes," he says. "On every woman? No." As for the money his exes lent him, Bill claims to have paid back every penny. "I've never screwed anybody over," As for Lumivision, the company he embezzled from, they've tried to recoop their money by garnishing Bill's wages. But in order to sieze his paychecks, they need to find out where he works, if he even works at all. Here's Jamie White, the former CEO of lumivision. 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: any money that has come in, which has been so little has really just gone back out to pay possibly a detective here and there to do some looking into where he's at or see what they can find. So at some point, It doesn't really make sense for me to continue doing too much. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW TO BE CAREFUL 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: it's It's important. I think people need to learn to be careful these days and, and know what they're getting into and realize that there are people that are very slippery and he, you know, he'll take advantage of somebody to get money. He'll take advantage. I mean, when he was married to one woman, he was obviously seeing another. I mean, he, he, he didn't really care. It was literally all about him. 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_L: Yeah. Well, unfortunately I do a lot of these stories and it. It, it shouldn't surprise me at this point because I've done like 200 and something episodes, but it does, it does surprise me every time because it's like, man, we don't want to live in a world where people like that exist, but they do, they, they're out there. And like you said, the whole point of this podcast is to warn people of like, look, look at these women. Like this is a great story because they banded together to. Try to, you know, prevent other women from falling into the trap. But yeah, like that's the whole point, you know, that to warn people that 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: me, that's, yeah, that's, to me, that's the most. It's an interesting part of, I guess I'll call it a story now looking back on it. You know, it sucks what happened to my company to be honest with you, the 10 really cool creative people that I had working for me. 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_L: yeah, 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: We had a great time putting out laser discs, working with some amazing, you know, filmmakers and institutions 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_L: yeah, 20250203 Jamie White 1521 2_R: and you know, he, he ruined all that. So it's an example of when somebody is so selfish and really. Narcissistic how much damage they can do and not blink As for Dana, I wonder, was she ever able to bounce back? HOW DID SHE BOUNCE BACK?
Javier: And so, are you still dealing with any of the financial
Dana Miller: No, I
Speaker: worked, I worked a job, I worked two jobs for six years. Um, I never did file bankruptcy. I was determined not to do it. Looking back, I probably should have. I mean, it did take me about six or seven years to, to get completely out of debt. And I'm a single mom. I mean, it was, you know, I lived with my parents for a couple years after that. You know, little things like that. And, and just worked my ass off until I got all that money paid off. So, yeah. It'll sting for the rest of my life. That's for sure. Yeah,
Javier: Absolutely. And, you know, one little side note that I would like to ask, and this could be a question for both of you, you mentioned that there were liens on the, on the townhouse that he currently lives in. And I looked up the public record for the county where that house is registered under, and I couldn't find any liens.
Speaker: I found a whole lot of documents about, you know, him just You know, switching mortgages and stuff like that. But I wasn't able to find lanes.
Dana Miller: um three well another girl that he dated she is a realtor and she Would pull these O& E reports and that's what was showing
Javier: how she found it.
Dana Miller: Mm hmm. Yeah,
Speaker: emotinally recovered?
Javier: All right. Yeah. I mean, I only scratched the surface a little bit, so, um. Wow, so we talked about the arrest, and I mean, obviously this, you said this took a financial toll on you, like the amount of sacrifices that you had to make in order to, to recover financially, but what about emotionally?
Speaker: How, have you recovered from that? Like, have you had normal relationships after this?
Dana Miller: I am happily single. I'll put it that way. Um, I always joke my man picker didn't it never really worked very well. So I'm good
Speaker: As for Bill Sullivan, operation cock block wasn't the end of his troubles. In 2011, William Sullivan became entangled in a Ponzi scheme that swindled more than 120 investors out of over $15 million. He joined Bridge Premium Finance as CFO in 2011, a company claiming to offer short-term loans to help small businesses pay commercial insurance premiums. Investors were promised high returns—up to 12%—and told their money was fully secured. But that was all a lie. The company, under owner Michael Turnock, had been operating as a Ponzi scheme since 2002, using new investors' money to pay off earlier ones. Despite knowing the company’s dire financial state, Sullivan continued to mislead investors, generating false account statements and accepting new deposits. In 2012, the SEC filed a civil lawsuit against both Turnock and Sullivan, freezing their assets and seeking financial penalties. Turnock eventually pleaded guilty in a criminal case and was sentenced to more than six years in prison. Sullivan, however, faced only civil charges and was ordered to pay over $226,000 in fines and restitution. Sullivan got off without going to prison and barely paid back what he owed, leaving many investors still waiting for their money. Today, Bill Sullivan lives in a $700,000 Colorado townhome. According to public records, the home is financed through a loan provided by a new woman in his life. Because of this financial arrangement, it's not clear whether Bill's ex-girlfriends, Jamie White his former boss at Lumivision or the victims of the ponzi scheme at Bridge Premium Finance can put a lein on this property to reclaim their loss. And from what I hear, Bill Sullivan is still at it. KEEPING OPERATION COCK BLOCK GOING
Jennifer Regnier: Yeah. We keep some of them up to speed on what's going on. And, um, pretty much Dana and I have been the two that have since 2014 have really kind of just continued to just keep track of him and. You know, look for information, public information through, you know, Facebook and other stuff to,
Javier: Mm hmm.
Jennifer Regnier: know, try to just continue Operation Cockblock, which we're continuing to do.
Speaker: THIS IS A WAY TO SURVIVE
Javier: Yeah, because, I mean, and so we'll get into the actual formal questions, but I guess, you know, I'm sure he's done this before, but the, his motivation for being with all these women is that this is a way of survival for him, right? Like, he needs to, because
Dana Miller: makes his living.
Javier: Yeah, because he cannot, he doesn't have a way of like, you know, putting a down payment on a house or, you know what I mean?
Speaker: Like the mortgage gets, it's always attached to a woman's name. So he needs the women in order to continue his, his con. So
Jennifer Regnier: hearing, um, um, as of recent, uh, his Facebook dating and he, a lot of the women, um, the common theme is that he, Likes to move fast and he puts a lot of pressure on them to
Javier: Mm hmm.
Jennifer Regnier: You know, to start, start a conversation or meet in person. And, you know, our reply is, is that he's desperate because we keep getting him fired from jobs.
Speaker: CTA Bad Boyfriend
Jennifer Regnier: If you have had a bad boyfriend or girlfriend, and you would like to share your story of revenge. Send me a voicemail. Don't include last names. Just give me a cliffnotes version of your stories and it might make it on a future episode.
