Anthony Christopher: (or) when. I went through what I went through with LaDonna, I felt like the only person in the world that had been a victim of hers. I felt very alone. for, for several years, I walked around with a dark cloud over my head, fearing the unknown of what was going to happen. When I realized that I was not the only victim. Um, I knew that I had an obligation to continue to help others that have found themselves victimized by LaDonna Humphrey.

Speaker: This is Anthony Christopher. He's LaDonna's former boss. Keep in mind, the story you're about to hear takes place around 2018 to 2019... way before LaDonna enters the true crime world. Back then, LaDonna Humphrey was just a mom trying to get by. Just like Alecia, and Patti who you heard from in the previous episodes, he and LaDonna had a falling out. Sooner after, that's when the harrassment began. We're going to get into their history in a second, but Anthony Christopher says LaDonna ruined his career as a business owner and therapist. He even had to move out to a new city just to get a fresh start. I mean it literally almost ruined my life I mean, I got it caused me to change my whole industry of work because I just I Can't take being a part of it anymore she was ghostwriting articles about me, harassing me, attacking me, ruined my reputation in the, in the new town I was living in a very small town of 2, 100 people. Anthony Christopher didn't stop fighting. In fact, he says he spent the last 6-7 years working to expose LaDonna Humphrey and uncover new victims who may have been targeted by her. There is even a private Facebook group dedicated to LaDonna's victims. I’ve spoken to many of these people, and while they come from different places, they all share one thing: at some point in their lives, they've crossed paths with LaDonna Humphrey. Here's Patti Rush.... other victimsPatti Part 2: And I had no idea that there were so many other victims out there. I had no idea. And I just kind of kept it to myself because I felt stupid that I fell for her crap. I felt just, I just wanted it to go away. And so I reached out to Anthony and that's when Anthony told me that there were, you know, several other victims, a lot of them. And so then I empowered because I didn't feel like I was the only one that was stupid enough to fall for our stuff Understandably, these people were terrified to speak with me. They fear LaDonna's retaliation. After many hours of conversations, some of these so called victims finally agreed to talk, believing it's worth the risk if it means exposing LaDonna Humphrey. In today's episode, Anthony Christopher takes on LaDonna Humphrey and wins. It's an ugly fight that ultimately lands her in jail. ///AD//Patti Part 2: I'm Javier Leiva, and this is PRETEND... Stories about real people pretending to be someone else. INTROPatti Part 2: Anthony Christopher came with all the reciepts. He has voicemails, police interviews, phone records, you name it. tape recorder rewinding and press play sound effectLaDonna (tape): Hi, this is LaDonna Humphrey. We've spoken before. I need you to please call me Anthony handed me a quarter of a terabyte of audio and court documents. It's a bit overwhelming, to be honest. But let's start at the beginning. In 2017, Anthony Christopher who has masters degree in clinical counseling, opened up a clinic called Absolute Pediatrics. HOW THEY MET / SHE

Starts Working For Himanthony Christopher: LaDonna started coming in spring of 2018 to the clinic, bringing her kids there for services.

Speaker: So she had adopted four kids from foster care and she was in the middle of adopting her fifth. During that time, she kept making comments to me needing to be able to adopt this last child. She was afraid that her employer was going to fire her, um, and that she was looking for work her exact words to me were, I've lost my job. I'm afraid that if my adoption care worker finds out he's going to halt the adoption, it's tracks. So of course, I mean, my love is foster care. So I'm like, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna stop that. So that conversation was on a Thursday or a Friday, and that Monday she had a job waiting for her. Here's Nae Heintz, who was contacted with Absolute Pediatrics during this time period.

Nae: He

Speaker: comes in and I show up and he says, I'm giving her a job. I'm creating a position for her. And I'm like, you can't give somebody a directorship, right? You don't even know her. Oh, no, no. She's, she's a good person. And I'm like, the rest is history. That;s right. Anthony Christopher didn't just create a job for LaDonna. He actually gave her the title of Community Outreach Director.

Javier: Let me ask you a question. Was there a real kid in foster care that she was taking care of, or was that made up?

Anthony Christopher: No, that was true. I went to the adoption.

Speaker: She has seven kids, two biological, and five adopted ANTHONY IS TOO KIND /

Nae Advises Against Hiring Hernae: I like tell people, Anthony would give the shirt off his back, the keys to his car, and his credit card for anybody that was in need. And I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. He has borrowed his vehicles. He has loaned people things that I'm like, what are you doing? But this is everybody deserves a first, second, third, fourth chance.

Speaker: Everybody deserves grace. He will always tell you everybody deserves grace and everybody makes mistakes We, we have been in many business ventures together and, you know, we always say he he's good cop, I'm bad cop because. You know, I'd be the cleaner. And I, as the voice of reason, I'm like, please don't do, don't do this. At least don't give her a director. Pos, I didn't even have a director position. So Anthony creates this position for LaDonna, and she didn't even make it past her 90 day probation period. Let me explain. And like a month into her work. We had to have a meeting. She was not present. She had surgeries. She was, she had flat tires. She had sick kids. everything seemed to happen to this woman. So we'd have a meeting and we'd have concerns that, hey, we're worried about, you know, your work performance. Immediately, Javier, immediately with, you know, boom, we're getting random, these, these random Facebook messages through the group. Oh, the LaDonna is great. She's a, she is doing so much for the community. She's, these random messages just would come in like on cue from miscellaneous people throughout Facebook and text messages and just giving her praise, praise. Now this happened? for a couple months. Now, things went really kind of off kilter.

Background Check On Coworkernae: We had a employee that worked at the clinic that had an initial as part of his first, his, his name had an initial and then his middle name and last name.

Speaker: he was a psychologist for us, a psych examiner. And there was this kind of conversation, I guess, between the staff one day about what C stood for.

Nae: And the joke in the office always was we, we have levity in our office. we had a lot of fun with this person trying to guess this person's name cause he wouldn't tell us.

Speaker: Well, LaDonna came to us one day and said, I got this.

Anthony Christopher: And 20 minutes later, there's this massive background check on this individual.

Nae: she said hot off the presses and handed me a printout Somehow... LaDonna ran a TLO background check on the employee in question.

Speaker: and told me here it is. Here's his first name. And I'm like, uh, why did you run this? Immediately after that, she provided me with a 28 page, I'm Javier, a 28 page comprehensive report. On top, it says, for licensed investigator purposes only,An TLO background check is a tool resevered only for licensed private investigators, law enforcement agencies, attorneys... not for the community outreach director at a counseling clinic. Investigators who pull a TLO report has to have a legitimate reason for running the report. Whoever conducted this report could be in legal jeopardy and could potentiall lose their license. (centralized database maintained by the FBI and used by law enforcement agencies. This isn't like one of those people search websites where you pay $30 and get publicly available records. No, this is strictly meant to be used by law enforcement and the courts. Not even licensed private investigators have access to this database. )

Nae: The backgorund check LaDonna showed her co-worokers contained the employee's social securtiy number, leins, every car he's ever owned, criminal records, weapons, you name it.

Anthony Christopher: it's actually like a 34 or 36 page background check. there were such detailed information in there, there were the VIN numbers of my employees children's cars in this thing. Addresses, dates of birth, socials.

Nae: All of his bank accounts, every family member, every house he's ever lived in,, Any convictions, any, everything was on this report.

Speaker: I'm like, my hair is still standing on my neck now.

Anthony Christopher: I mean, it was probably the scariest thing I've ever seen when, when it was given to me in my office and he was so upset and he was resigning because he felt like his privacy was taken and here she had known that he had had a bankruptcy prior and she's trying to now extort money from him.

Speaker: Just like in the Melissa Witt case, LaDonna had unpressidented access to information strictly reserved for law enforcement or private investigators. I mean, it was so, so disturbing to me that, I mean, when I left the office that day, I went to Bentonville police department to report it.

Javier: you met her in the spring of 2018 and you fired her, what, like months later?

Speaker: I mean just just over 90 days That's

Anthony Christopher: I tell you that I am still all these years later paying for 90 something days of attempting to do a good deed is just wild to me.

Speaker: I mean, the whole thing's just fucking crazy.

Nae: Soon after she was fired from Absolute Pediatrics, Nae got a call from LaDonna.

Nae's Background Checknae: she claims somebody put my FBI, my background check on her doorstep, and I'm a felon.

Speaker: Yes, Nae Heintz is a convicted felon. In 2007, she plead guilty to 1 count of business theft and was sentenced to one year in prison. So somebody put this FBI background check on her doorstep. So somebody provided in an envelope, my FBI background check, and I'm a felon. And Anthony illegally hired a felon. I wasn't even working for the company yet. I was just contracted to do my job, my licensed job. And this spiraled. This spiraled. after she was, you know, she was let go Nae's felony is something she's not proud of but not something she shys away from either. it's, it's nobody's business, it's nobody's business. It's my story to tell. And my biggest pet peeve is somebody telling somebody else's story. I spent a year away from my babies talking to my three kids and my husband. for 20 minutes through a three inch pane glass once a week. And in that time, I saw a lot of people coming and going, you know, people that were repeat offenders. And I decided something has to change. So while I spent that 12 months in jail, I decided I was going to be something someday. And I set my path. I'm going to be Dr. Nae. They all laughed at me Nae reinvented herself. And despite her criminal history, she put herself through her pHD program and has earned multiple professional certifications and specializations in mental health and counseling. I never looked back, Javier. I never looked back who I am today. I am licensed in six states. I am a state supervisor for the state of Arkansas, I am a Medicaid provider in two states. But it wasn't easy accomplishing all of this.

Anthony Christopher: And when LaDonna found that out, she went to try to ruin nays life

Markernae: This woman found out about my

Speaker: and took my mugshots and the story she chose to write about me and used to What I call she fear mongered. She capitalizes on people's pain She told her version of my story. My mugshots and my face. FBI background check was shared with DHS and they showed up at mine and Anthony's place of employment with this FBI background check She then used that information, contacted DHS The Department of Human Services miscellaneously And anonymously however 23 times in that weekend. Contacted my counseling board, contacted, I had problems with a, a professor in the university That professor, and we're one month into the semester, sends me an email that I am removed from the program because She is afraid, my, afraid for my supervisees, and I fail to meet the core counseling skills required for her class Not a coincidence. So I was removed from my counseling program last semester, last class

Anthony Christopher: she was in the middle of her PhD program getting her doctorate in counseling education and because of LaDonna's attacks, Ney was unjustly thrown out of her doctorate program at the University of Arkansas. I watched her for months just devastated as to what happened and all the money and the time and the energy she spent all to be so close to be thrown out of her program because of LaDonna. And you know what? Nay, she appealed it. and she won and she was let back in and she's a doctor today because of it.

Nae: According to Anthony and Nea, this was just the beginning of LaDonna's campaign to take down her enemies at Absolute Pediatrics.

Speaker: We'll have more after the break. //AD BREAK//Nae: Prior to LaDonna working at Absolute Pediatrics, Anthony's clinic was being audited for improper billing and service delivery of Medicaid payments. In other words Absoute pediatrics recieved medicaid payments for treatments they may or may not have provided. Investigators eventually concluded that $41 thousand dollars needed to be refunded to the Arkansas Medicaid program.

Anthony Christopher: And right at that time, as we're being audited, LaDonna's hired

Speaker: Like Anthony said... LaDonna barely made it past her 90 day probation period. She was dismissed for underperformance and illegal activities. According to the termination letter, she received multiple warnings. LaDonna signed a non-disparagement agreement and was issued her final paycheck. Anthony thought that would be the last time he would hear from LaDonna. Boy was he wroing. AnthonyChristoph11988024783: Little did I know that when I fired LaDonna Humphrey, my problems were just beginning. Ladonna allegedly sent spoof emails with false and slanderous allegations against Anthony Christopher, his company, and employees All of these individuals started to receive spoof anonymous messages that were attempting to tear down my life and my credibility. Moving from there, um, we sent a cease and desist. We, we asked her to stop. We knew that she was behind these things. None of these things ever happened to me prior to this. exposed it. We sent a cease and desist over to her. She laughed, she mocked it, she thought it was a game, and we were left with no choice but to sue her. B,ut if you ask LaDonna, she was just a whistleblower, revealing what she believed to be medicaid fraud. Anthony Christopher fired her in retaliation. During that time, she attacked at all costs. She had me removed from a nonprofit that I had been with since their founding. LaDonna allegedly used a spoof number to call Ken Ferguson, the board president, and outed Anthony's sexuality, leading to his termination and financial devastation. She shared pictures of my ex and I, um, together, one of which I was kissing him on the cheek. That photo was used to have me terminated from my career. And little did I know my whole world was turning upside down and would go on for a period of almost six years. We're going to tease all this out throughout the series. But let's follow the timeline. LaDOnna gets fired. Almost immediately, these mysterious messages start popping us. Anthony suspects it could be LaDonna who's behind it. So he reaches out to the Bentonville, Arknasas police department.

Detective: Hello? Yes, this is LaDonna. Hey Dennis.

Ladonna: Hey,

Speaker: Hey, the reason I'm calling, I guess there's some issues going on with, uh, one of your past employers or something. The police ask her about that background check she allegedly conducted on one of her coworkers. A backgorund check that's only available to law enforcement, courts, and private investigators. Let me just put it this way, my cohost for criminal conduct, john taylor, is a licensed private investigator. He has access to these reports and he's not allowed to use this for research on our show. There has to be a reason to run these background checks. While not illegal, it is highly unethical. The police just want to know who handed her such an extensive report. POLICE

Asks About Comprehensive Repordetective: Yeah. Back on August 16th. Uh, you sent a Linnae Heintz. it's a comprehensive report on a, White. because I think there was a joke going around, nobody knew who his real name was or something like that.

Speaker: Okay. Okay, do you recall sending that to her?

Ladonna: I don't recall all the details of everything.

Detective: I was just making sure that you didn't receive this from a police officer or something.

Speaker: Um, so I was just trying to I don't

Ladonna: remember.

Speaker: You don't remember how you got a report containing this guy's social security number, loan history, criminal background. Don't recall? It just feel from the sky. I don't want to state the obvious here but this is the same lady who some how was authorized by the Fort Smith PD to post sensitive crime scene evideonce to YouTube. It's a fair question... how is she getting so mcuh access? But instead of answering the question, she deflects. I'm I mean, he's telling, he's telling people that, I mean, he's suing me right now for slander. So that's public knowledge. I haven't slandered him. This guy is a creep.

Detective: like I said, I don't know both sides.

Speaker: I'm just trying to get to the bottom of it. What's going on between everybody Anyway, I'm

Ladonna: under arrest or what?

Detective: For what?

Ladonna: I don't know. I mean, I don't understand why I'm being called by the police

Speaker: Later on, he asks her about the mysterious text messages.

Detective: and there's a text message from a spoof number, is what it is.

Speaker: Do you know anything about that?

Ladonna: I just know it's in a lawsuit. Yes.

Detective: so you have nothing to do with any of these text messages or anything like that? I just don't want to have to start digging into this and find out that that's not the case and that you did send something.

Speaker: I gave you a chance to tell me the truth and I found out this. So, do you have anything to do with any of these, these text messages?

Ladonna: Well, I don't understand why he's accusing me of that. And what have I done that supposedly broke the law?

Speaker: I mean, I need to know exactly what he's, is he trying to press charges against me? Well,

Detective: that's what I'm trying to find out. If we, if I even have a crime here

Speaker: Again, she didn't answer the question.

Ladonna: The police tell her that there's not much he can do criminally... he recommended that this matter be resolved in civil court.

Detective: I've already told him I'm not doing anything else. He's

Ladonna: harassing me through you, though. I'm not

Detective: that you're Right, but he, what he's saying is, uh, that you're contacting people. I was like, and I go, Anthony, that's not, that's slander.

Speaker: That's civil stuff. It's not harassment. If she wants to contact somebody or like something on Facebook, there's nothing I can do about that. So, okay. I'm not

Ladonna: doing anything. You have my word..

Detective: You have

Ladonna: my word. I'm waiting for

Speaker: us to go to court and you're welcome to go read my side of the lawsuit. I promise you I'm not a bad person.

Detective: No, you're not. You're not. I'm not saying you are.

Speaker: Yeah, but you, you said you, you have, you, you've never seen that email though.

Ladonna: No.

Detective: And didn't produce it or anything.

Ladonna: No, no.

Speaker: Here's a recording of another call with LaDOnna and Bentonville police. Hello?

Detective: Hey, Ms. Woodhouse, Lieutenant Marvego.

Ladonna: It's who?

Detective: Lieutenant Marvego, Denver Police.

Ladonna: Oh, hey. Thanks for calling me back. Yeah,

Detective: no problem.

Ladonna: Um, do you realize that Anthony took information that you gave him and is inappropriately using it? Talking about the DHS hotline call, which was actually reported to DHS and Little Rock.

Speaker: And now he's made that public and, you know, that's a confidential thing.

Detective: What DHS about?

Speaker: LaDonna just admitted to police that she's the one who called the department of human services. Rememer, LaDonna falsely reported to DHS that Nae was a felon and unfit to work with children. Did you hear the cop? Let's play that again. What DHS about? He had no idea what she was talking about CRYING /

Trying To Manipulate Copladonna: Well, I know that I've probably given you a bad impression of who I am.

Detective: No. No. Like I said, I'm But I can

Ladonna: promise you that he is not a good person and he's using the system. But, you know, my attorneys aren't going to respond. We just haven't yet. Right. Um, and we will.

Speaker: I mean, it's coming, but I'm just really horrified that he's done this to so many people and that I had tried to do the right thing and that's what I get in return. In another call.... The police keep asking her LaDonna the same question. Did you send these annoymous text messages. She either denies it, deflects the question...

Detective: I'm trying to figure out if you sent these, the text messages, spoof numbers,

Ladonna: I mean, what else are you saying you have in front of you, though? That's what I'm confused about

Speaker: Then the officer asks LaDonna if she's ever messaged Ken Ferguson the director of New Beginning Youth Homes, a non-profit organization Anthony Christopher was a part of.

Detective: Ken Ferguson, do you know who that is? I'm sure you do.

Speaker: He received a call from somebody, and they were saying some, some things about Anthony and this and that, and from the number. It was that, It's the same number, that called Ken that you used on the other one. Is that, was that you making that phone call to Ken? Just out of anger, I guess?

Ladonna: No, I didn't make any phone calls out of

Detective: nothing Did Ken, did Ken know that you, that it was you that was calling?

Ladonna: No, I don't think I would give him my name.

Detective: Okay. Okay. So what, what, what information did you provide Ken in regards to the situation?

Speaker: LaDonna told police that she reported Anthony for improper business practicies and for intimidating some of his employees. She also included this little nugget.

Ladonna: And I asked him if he realized that, um, Anthony was living an alternative lifestyle, because he's keeping it a secret, because in new beginning it was faith based. And in the lawsuit, they say, They named this in the lawsuit and they say that I, um, called Anthony a faggot, and I did not,

Detective: you just said alternative lifestyle is what you said.

Ladonna: I I wouldn't have used the word faggot. I may have said homosexual.

Javier: she outed you to, I believe the president, I don't have it in front of me.

Speaker: Was it the president of the

Anthony Christopher: The founder, Ken, Ken Ferguson.

Speaker: There, there were many years where I really struggled, uh, accepting my sexuality as a gay man. And, I really kept my work life and my personal life very separate. And so, uh, it was, it was hard at times. It was very difficult. And, you know, for many years I had to live this secret of what my personal life was because the founder was, um, a very staunch assembly of God Pentacostal member. Um, And I knew that if it got out, I could lose my career LaDonna called Ken and said, You need to be aware, I know that you are Assembly of God, I know that you're a worship pastor, I also know that your executive director is a faggot. And I also know that if you continue to employ him, we're going to let your church know that you use, um, money of the faithful, if you will, to support gay lifestyle. And within days, I was asked to step down and resign from my position. I'm playing you these tapes because LaDonna is about to admit she was behind some of the harrassing messages. So far, we have LaDonna admitting she called DHS... Not to report Anthony about medicaid fraud. DHS has nothing to do with medicaid fraud. And now she's about to make some other damning admissions. Take a listen. ladonna admits to sending text messagesDETECTIVE: So anyway, as She just admitted far as the text message on Saturday or Sunday on the spoof numbers is, is that gonna be something that you sent to him? Yes. And to his mom just to get their attention, type quit doing stuff type

Ladonna: type thing? Yeah. 'cause it was sent to me, so I sent it on to them. Yeah.

Detective: Okay. So it was sent to you and then you forwarded it. Onto them? I sent

Ladonna: it on, yes. Yeah.

Speaker: She just admitted to forwarding intimidating text messages to Anthony's mother using an untraceable phone number. Then police question her about the emails.

Police Question About Emaildetective: there was an email that was sent, and

Speaker: He reads to her the email addres. and something about Hello, as a former employee, Jones is not my true last name to protect my identity from Leighton Hentz and Anthony Christopher. I have serious concerns regarding practices and behaviors. but, um, is that you trying to do the, the whistleblower thing, trying to protect your identity on that one? don't know. I'd have to see the email. We had court last week. Right.

Ladonna: And the judge ordered Anthony and I both to leave each other alone. And let civil court handle it. Exactly.

Speaker: LaDonna admitted to the DHS call, the defametory email to Anthony's boss at the non-profit, the spoof text messages to anthony's mom and another employee at Absolute pediatrics. And now he asks her about the email and she dodges the question. Why does she do itJavier: what is the thread here? What is her motivation for doing all this?

Anthony Christopher: I think it's because she's a sociopath. I think, you know, sociopaths are good at believing their lies, making others believe it. She does a lot of this for publicity, notoriety. She wants to be seen as this big do gooder in the community. But all the while, she's behind a screen just terrorizing peoplE.

Javier: Why ruining their lives.

Speaker: Here's Nae again. Nae: This was so devastating to my best friend. This was so devastating to him. There were days he couldn't get out of bed. There were days where, you know, we shared a bedroom wall, and he'd knock on the wall, and I'd come around to be sure he was okay. And I'd go about my day, and he didn't want to live anymore. There were days where I was genuinely concerned and I'm like dude, you know who I am and you know my role. I can't be hearing this or I'm gonna have to take measures. You're gonna be okay. She doesn't stopAnthony Christopher: and it's just wild to me. She, the length that this woman will go to destroy your life. Do not exist. She, she will continue to destroy. She will continue to attack and then she will go forward in public and pretend to do good the very next She was only in my life 90 something days and completely ruined my life.

Nae: Nae tells me that after her experience with LaDonna, she's more open about her previous criminal records.

Speaker: Javier, I was guilty. I knew what it was doing was wrong. but I don't regret the felony I'm telling you right here right now and now because of LaDonna I have changed the way I do things on an intake when I have a client coming in. I am open I am honest and I'm like because I should be allowed to tell my story I will give you the opportunity to decide if this is a good match for you.

Open About Felonynae: I am a felon. I have a felony conviction and everything that I for, everything you see around you is built on that foundation. When society tells you felons have to be in this box and they're not going to amount to anything and they can't be, I'm like, I broke, no, I will not allow it.

Speaker: I grew,

Anthony Christopher: there are so many people actively being hurt by this woman that I don't want somebody else to go through what's happened to me It was such a freaking nightmare,

Speaker: I'm going to play you some more tape from LaDonna's call with the Bentonville Police. She's starting to worry. What LaDonna considers a whistleblower campaign, a prosecutor might see as grounds for harassment charges. POLICE SAYS HE WILL TYPE IT

Up And Sitdown With The Prosecutorladonna: what will happen is a prosecutor wants to do something. What does that?

Detective: Uh, well, if that's the case, uh, if they see fit that a warrant could be issued for your arrest,

Ladonna: you feel like a, do you feel like a crime has been committed?

Detective: You know, it's close

Ladonna: Okay, is there anything else that you need from me?

Detective: I, you know, commend you for being truthful with me about the text messages and spoof numbers and, like I said, don't worry yourself about it and we'll, we'll work, we'll get this work passed and it'll be in the past and hopefully we won't have to deal with this issue again.

Ladonna: So basically though, Anthony is going to get away with everything he's done.

Detective: Well, I'm not (ldh)

Speaker: Because then he turns it on everybody else. Well, I'm not saying that. I mean, he's, he reported this. I, I, ()

Ladonna: (getting choked up) cause I feel like everybody is siding with Anthony. I,

Detective: I'm not siding with anybody.

Speaker: I don't side with people. I mean, I stay I'm non biased, and like I said, I collect from both sides, and I present it to the prosecutors. After the break... Anthony and LaDonna face off in court. And both of them end up getting arrested. ///AD BREAK////DETECTIVE: So we all heard LaDonna pretty much admit to Bentonville police that she was behind some of the annoynmous messages. The leuitenant told her that she needs to stop all contact with Anthony and that he's going to refer the case over to the prosecutors for potential harrassment charges. Anthony had already filed a lawsuit against her. After hearing her admissions to the police, his attorney kicked into high gear. See here's the funny thing about LAWSUITS. When you sue someone, there's this thing called discovery. and with discovery comes subpeona power. That means, both parties can request the other side to produce documents and business records. In this case, Anthony wanted access to LaDOnna's phone records.

Anthony Christopher: We asked the judge for an emergency restraining order and a preservation order to ensure that she wouldn't destroy any evidence that was pertinent to my case, being that she's now admitted to using her cell phone to ruin my life.

Speaker: LaDonna Humphrey nd her atorney declined the request for a speedy discovery. However, the judge agrees and grants a preservation order plus a temporary restraining order. LaDonna destroys evidence from her phone Anthony Christopher: The judge tells her no more spoofing, no more messaging, do not delete anything to stop (dramatic music ) calls 911 - dramatic musicAnthony Christopher: But at the 11th hour on the evening that she is supposed to hand the phone over to a third party expert, LaDonna calls 9 1 1. 911 operator: County 9 1 1, What is your name?

Ladonna: LaDonna Humphrey.

Speaker: 911 operator: Okay, tell me exactly what happened.

Ladonna: Um, we're sitting here watching TV and, um, The alarm on my Suburban starts going off, and someone has broken into my Suburban.

Speaker: my husband ran outside to see what was happening, and he said he saw, what did you say, a white SUV screaming down our road, and it turned west, he said. 911 operator: stay in your house, keep your doors locked, uh, be safe.

Ladonna: Oh my gosh, they're not still out there, are they? Do you think theyit's frightening

Anthony Christopher: She's, she's crying on the phone.

Speaker: She states that she's sitting in her living room. Watching a movie with her kids, uh, and her husband, that she hears a sound, goes outside, realizes That somebody had gone into her vehicle, broken into the vehicle, stolen her purse, inside of her purse was her cell phone, and as a result, she is not able to turn her cell phone over to the courts. She then follows up in a police report to state that she sees my SUV leaving the scene of the crime in attempts to implicate me of stealing the cell phone device

Javier: And the cell phone is important because at the time you're thinking, well, this is proof. If we get the cell phone that we know who is sending these

Speaker: The day the phone was reported stolen from her car, LaDonna refused to have the officer finger print the car.

Anthony Christopher: What was also interesting in the stolen cell phone case is that LaDonna waited.

Speaker: 30 days to notify the court that her Apple account no longer existed. So this is important because the Apple account obviously is going to have a record of the app she's using for these spoof numbers. It's going to have all of the, the logins going to store pictures, text messages, you know, everything. Wait a minute.. you're telling me that whoever broke into LaDonna's car and took her phone also deleted her Apple iCloud account? Without her iCloud account, there is no backup. Without a backup, there is no evidence. Anthony's attorney asked her who could have possibly delted her account? She told him, whoever took her phone from her car. What a strange coincidence that the day after the courts requested a speedy discovery that her phone get stolen, and the thief mysteriuously gets deleted her icloud account. Let's fast forward to the court proceedings that took place on April 2019. Anthony's attorney questioned LaDonna. about a facebook posts and says posted right before her phone was reportedly stolen. While, under oath, LaDonna claims she didn't make that post. Then she was asked about one of the anonymous emails. LaDonna Humprey again denies knowning the identy of the sender. Then the attorney asks why that email awas sent from the same IP address as LaDonna's personal gmail account. LaDonna responds, "I don't know. I hope that we can get to the bottom of that." LaDonna's defense is that she used the same password for all of her accounts, including for her work email when she worked under anthony Christopher... implying he could be behind the hacking. Then the court calls a digital forensic examiner to the stand. Anthony's attorney asked him, if he believes LaDonna Humphrey was the person behind the fake emails. He said yes, that is his opinion. The IT expert said taht LaDonna's personal gmail and the spoof email acounts were logged in at the same time and near the same place, indicating that they were accessed by the same person... LaDonna Humphrey. Now they move on to the phone records... LaDonna sent me a very blurry screen shot from a detective report. In it, it found that he examined LaDonna's phone records after it was reported stonlen and he found no outgoing calls after the theft and no evidence that LaDOnna made a false report about the incident. However, that's not what the expert witness had to say in court. Anthony's attorney draws attention to LaDonna's SIM card. A SIM card is a little tiny chip, the size a stamp, that store all the information about your mobile network like AT&T or verizon. Every time you upgrade you phone, you pop the sim card out of.the old phone and add it to the new one. That's how you can transfer your phone number from one device to another. The expert witness stated that LaDonna's old SIM card, you know, the one from phone that was stolen the night before, was inserted into her new phone the day after the car break in. How is that possible. Could it be possible that the theif was kind enough to pop out the sim car before stealing, then deleting her Apple ID and icloud account while getting away. Or does it make more sense that LaDonna's phone was never stolen. the judge states in her judgment, the phone was never stolen. She aggressively spoliated evidence. She sent fake emails. She used spoofed numbers. The judge calls it all out. So I do believe it was a big part of what helped to award me the case. The judge said that her testimony at the hearing was contradictory and not credible and therefore found LaDonna in contempt of court. He sentenced her to serve a total of 10 days in jail. The court assessed the damages suffered by Anthony Christopher and his company to awarded Anthony $3.5 million dollar. LaDonna quickly filed for bancruptcy the bankruptcy court stated that that money was non dischargeable, that she was still going to have to pay that money.

Javier: That's a lot of money.

Anthony Christopher: It's a lot of money. And you would think that a lot of money would stop somebody from attacking others, but as I've seen since my stories come out, there's at least four or five other victims that she has perpetrated on since me. I mean, it's just wild to me.

Javier: And does she even have that kind of money?

Anthony Christopher: No, absolutely not.

Speaker: LaDonna Humphrey appealed the judges decsion where it remains in the arkansas court of appeals. audioJavierLeiva11235166149: So, so tell me what happens. You win this huge victory and then. And then what? audioAnthonyChristoph21235166149: So, I mean, imagine this, I. You know, I go through this year long battle. I win this huge multimillion dollar lawsuit, 3. 57 million permanent restraining orders. She's sentenced to jail. I finally feel like, okay, the word's out there. Everybody is now aware of the predator that I have been dealing with the last year, six months go by rebuilding my company. Have my reputation back. I've cleared my name. I get a call from my attorney. Glenn Ritter calls me, says to me, Anthony, what are you doing? Where are you at? I tell him I'm, I'm working. I'm at the clinic. What's wrong? You're scaring me. Is everything okay? He says to me, you to get in your car. I need you to come here. Uh, you need to drive safe. You need to follow the speed limits. Uh, obey the traffic signals because if you get pulled over, you're going to be arrested. There are There's been a felony warrant issued for your arrest by the Arkansas Attorney General Office for Medicaid fraud. And I can't tell you, Javier, how in that moment my stomach just dropped. It felt like everything that I had accomplished, all of this money, all of this stress, all of the fighting the good ethical fight, letting the legal system work, failed me
